Remote work experience student Chloe Ashton shares more of her thoughts about digital marketing, this time focusing on the power of social media.
Social media has become hugely popular, with most people having at least one account and businesses using it to grow their clientele. As a result, it’s important to make sure that you're using the same platforms as your target audience, otherwise your messages will be seen by very few people with an interest in your products and services.
Many businesses use platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest to advertise directly to their target audience, and those selling physical products often use Etsy as well. Active, organised and interesting social media will always draw in customers, especially if it includes offers and competitions. It can also be used as a customer service portal to communicate important updates, respond to customers quickly and efficiently, and allow them to leave reviews.
Maintaining high-quality, professional and responsive social media pages can be overwhelming and takes a lot of time and effort. However, once up and running they will prove incredibly useful, enabling consumers to find your business more easily thanks to many people using social media as a form of search engine.
